It is designed to serve the needs of the entrepreneur ready to accelerate the growth of their small business, develop prototypes, manufacture, package and ship products. VIA supports the larger community by providing co-work space, organizational partnerships and access to our vast network of professional resources and services.

Nickie Hawkins is a dynamic leader and visionary with a proven track record of transforming ideas into impactful ventures. With extensive experience in business strategy, innovation management, and community development, Nickie has dedicated her career to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering growth within Virginia’s vibrant ecosystem. Her commitment to excellence and hands-on leadership style has helped build VIA into a trusted resource for startups and established businesses alike.
Under Nickie’s leadership, VIA continues to pioneer new approaches to mentorship, strategic partnerships, and sustainable economic development. Her unique blend of expertise and passion for innovation drives our mission to connect Virginia’s brightest minds with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
Annette Patterson, Founder & President of The Advancement Foundation
Annette Patterson is founder and president of The Advancement Foundation. Prior to establishing The Advancement Foundation, Annette served as Chief Development Officer for Stetson University during a $200 Million Campaign and as Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Salem Academy and College where she led a $75 million campaign. Annette has served as consultant for The Diocese of Richmond and trained over 30 primary and secondary schools in strategic planning and fundraising.
